Our “100 Young Engineers - Tomorrow’s Builders” programme was launched in December 2014 for our Courage at Work campaign.
Our first Tomorrow’s Builders were our “100 Young Engineers”. We included them in our Company during a 3 month period. We selected them from the 1,800 CVs collected during our campaign. Salini Impregilo greeted these young talents in March 2015 with a 3-day event that was structured interactively to welcome these people in our Group and to start their induction process.
Our newly employed young talents were accompanied along an integration path and one that provided knowledge of Salini Impregilo’s values and culture: Our Top Management presented our Company's strategy and business. Our managers, through dedicated working groups, offered an in-depth account of how our Company and our worksites are organised.
We launched our Build UP programme to guide the induction in our Group of our Tomorrow's Builders and their learning path. It’s a new development programme specifically created for the project. Today, it has become a development instrument for our Junior profiles.
Our first Tomorrow’s Builders are now a part of Salini Impregilo. Their story demonstrates just what young talents can do in our Group.
To paraphrase F.D. Roosevelt, "We need enthusiasm, imagination and the ability to face facts, even unpleasant ones, bravely. We need to correct, by drastic means if necessary, the faults in our economic system from which we now suffer. We need the courage of the young. Yours is not the task of making your way in the world, but the task of remaking the world which you will find before you.“ (Address at Oglethorpe University, May 22, 1932).
