Our history

The history of the companies that gave birth to the Salini Impregilo Group dates back 110 years, when in 1906, in Milan and in Piacenza, Mr. Vincenzo Lodigiani and Mr. Umberto Girola established their companies, constructing their first works at a local level, on their territories. Exactly thirty years later, in 1936, Mr. Pietro Salini established his construction company.

Our history dates back more than a century, and tells of great families, of infrastructures that drive the development of countries all over the world, of interwining corporate journeys. Salini Impregilo Group was born on 1st January 2014 as the result of the merger by incorporation of Salini into Impregilo.

These two great companies, which were recognised and valued both in Italy and abroad, merged to build a future as protagonist worldwide. The objective was to forge the experience of two consolidated companies and create a player with undisputed technical and financial capacity, grand ambitions and vast trove of industrial knowledge.
