Palazzo Venezia. A Venetian in Rome

The third Rome - Ep.2 Palazzo Venezia. A Venetian in Rome

Did you know that Palazzo Venezia was commissioned by a Venetian in Rome? It was in fact cardinal Pietro Bembo, who in 1464 became known as Pope Paul II

Claudio Strinati, continuously urged by Nicolas Ballario, goes through the history of the huge and mysterious Palazzo Venezia, up to the first decades of the 20th century when it became the headquarters and symbol of the Fascist dictatorship.

And did you know that with Venezia Station of Rome’s metro Line C  – which is being built in the square – it will be possible to directly access, at the first basement floor level, the museum complex of Piazza Venezia and Fori Imperiali.
