March 26, 2020 – “We are all living a complex moment that will change our lives forever. Our priority, today, is to ensure the Health and Safety of our employees, partners and of all the communities where we build our projects. We are also aware that this crisis gives us with a double responsibility, which we are facing with the spirit of service: on one hand, we want to protect, safeguard and ensure our workers' health, by implementing the most rigorous measures. Secondly, we must make sure that the strategic projects do not come to a halt.

From Genoa's new bridge to its other global construction sites, Salini Impregilo undertakes to keep this promise: building large infrastructure assets needed by communities, while safeguarding its workers at the same time.

As we conduct our staff work remotely, we are looking at continuing our activities on the construction sites where conditions allow us to do it, rigorously applying the norms issued by governments in every country where we operate, in order to guarantee strategic infrastructure for our clients and communities.

Since February 2020, the spread of the COVID-19 virus has strained the global production system as well as the ability of companies to operate. As the virus quickly expanded in Italy, the Group immediately adopted measures to stop the contagion and protect the health of its employees, from office staff to workers in the field.

We activated an unprecedented process, with a task force of 120 people who daily define and adapt the processes to the changing situation, monitoring the application of prevention and containment measures of eventual critical situations in over 100 construction sites and 5 continents. These activities are carried out in full collaboration with all relevant parties.

Our first thoughts go out to all the people fighting the expansion of this pandemic, and to all those guaranteeing the essential services, starting from you. We are part of the huge effort of many different national systems: we are players in a strategic sector that will be centre to the recovery. It is a hope that we share with our clients, the authorities and every community we serve .”
