PIETRO SALINI, CEO: THE FOUNDATION BEARS WITNESS TO OUR STRONG COMMITMENT TOWARDS THE
YOUNG AND NEW ENTREPRENEURS
Milan, September 16, 2015 - “Salini Impregilo continues its commitment towards the young and new entrepreneurs. The E4Impact Foundation aims at creating the right conditions to promote well-being in Africa. This is why we adhered to the initiative with great enthusiasm”. This is how Mr Pietro Salini, CEO of Salini Impregilo, commented upon the creation of the E4Impact Foundation, presented today in Milan, with the objective of sustaining an impact entrepreneurship in Africa, through great partnerships created with the continent's universities, in order to develop, through specific training and guidance programmes, a new generation of entrepreneurs of great social significance.
“We have been present in Africa for sixty years. We assisted at the transformation of the social fabric in addition to a strong desire to change, especially present in the young", continued Mr Pietro Salini. “We strongly believe in the value offered by the young, and most of all in the importance of creating a future ruling class, capable of contributing to a long-term structural growth. By forming new local entrepreneurs we can, as a company, count upon quality local suppliers, which we can subsequently involve in our projects. We would create work opportunities and guarantee that our works are built using quality products with contained costs", commented Mr. Salini, who attended the ceremony with the representatives of the other entities that founded E4Impact: Letizia Moratti (Securfin), Giorgio Squinzi (Mapei), Franco Anelli (Università Cattolica), Rector of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Mario Molteni (Associazione Always Africa), Professor of Business Administration at the Università Cattolica.
The E4impact Foundation pursues its goal by training new entrepreneurs through the Global MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship, realised in partnership with local universities and distributed by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. Among the main activities that the Foundation wishes to carry out we can name the following: to train new entrepreneurs by using new methods specifically created for the purpose, to improve the skills of professors and of the academic staff of African universities, to support Italian small and medium enterprises wishing to invest in Africa and to create with each MBA an ecosystem made of companies, foundations, social venture funds, banks and institutions.
"Today's initiative - concluded Mr. Salini - represents the seed that we planted. In doing so, we are stating that the way Africa is seen today is greatly changing. We plant this seed with the aim of meeting the issues faced by the continent in a structured manner".
