The project involves the construction of a section of motorway, from scratch, 28.6 km long, which connects Lugoj to Deva. The Lugoj-Deva motorway is part of the Pan-European Corridor IV, which starts in Germany and continues through Prague-Vienna-Bratislava-Budapest.

The main works for constructing this section of motorway also include the building of two bridges, twelve overpasses, two viaducts, numerous structures for water drainage, as well as small bridges, parking areas, service areas and acceleration and deceleration lanes.
