Salerno-Reggio Calabria High-Speed Railway, Lot 1A Battipaglia-Romagnano
Lot 1A of the Salerno-Reggio Calabria High-Speed Railway entails the final design and construction of 35 kilometres of new line, which will allow travel at speeds of up to 300 kilometres per hour.
The contract comprises 14 kilometres of tunnels excavated by tunnel-boring machine (TBM), 6 kilometres of viaducts and some 5 kilometres of artificial tunnels.
A junction is also to be built at Romagnano so that the new line can interconnect with the existing one at Battipaglia, heading to Metaponto and Potenza.
